One thing that may come as a surprise: across all Austrian MEPs, the Social Democratic and Greens are the biggest influencers on Twitter, according to their engagement rate – check out the graph below.

When it comes to the number of followers, the Greens even outrank the Social Democrats, with MEP Michel Reimon being most adept at mobilising his twitter community to like, share or retweet his posts.

These findings also align when evaluating the Twitter performance of the Austrian MEP candidates who top their respective lists: Werner Kogler, from the Greens, has by far the biggest Twitter crowd following him, but unlike Michel Reimon, Kogler seems to be much less influential in his posts.
With respect to the total engagement (sum of likes, share, retweets between 22.1.-20.2.2019), Andreas Schieder of the Social Democrats) has the strongest Twitter voice. He tops this list with the highest engagement, followed by Harald Vilimsky of the right wing Freedom party. See table below.
